Hey yo, it must be great to sound like one of the “cool kids” with a random quip. I’m sure the sound of canned laughter and applause can be heard somewhere…

There’s a huge difference between me creating fan art REQUESTED by my followers/randoms, drawing them and charging ZERO dollars, NIL favors, & virtually NO COMPENSATION in return. I don’t ask or run random contests for followers, much less run my Tumblr as a cover to do private commissions, playmats, alters, t-shirt prints, etc. There’s no business card on the corner of my page or any real contact information. I am here to only entertain people. That is all.

Also, I guess EVERY aspiring artist in the past century are also thieves too with your rational thought. I guess that makes Jim Lee and every art student are thieves or master criminals. Heaven forbid all the fandom that goes around tumblr, much less anyone that’s drawn their favorite cartoon character on the corner of the notebook during a lecture.

My problem is that the images people requests are not meant to be sold or distributed for financial gain. They’re gifts I’m giving back to the community. I cannot comprehend how you would trivialize fanart as stealing from anyone when it wasn’t sold or even intended to be sold. The guy that ripped my art either from Google images or my DA, didn’t get my permission to reproduce it, much less charging $25 for it.

Let me be EXTRA clear as well since a lot of 4Chan/Reddit users don’t bother even browsing past the first page of Tumblr and just believe in rumors and MMO junkies.

I have NEVER charged for any of the sketches that you see here on my Tumblr. I have NEVER drawn full frontal nudity, much less anything close to a pay-wall rule 34 site. In addition to that, WotC and I are in good standings currently.

There are no rumors, speculation or even a court hearing, much less anyone else claiming they’re in the know of my legal business. If there are such people just bragging about it, they’re most likely lying through their teeth for attention. What was said to me by WotC’s attorney’s are between me and my lawyer. No one else.

The only difference between your stealing of intellectual property and their stealing of intellectual property is that you’re very open about from where you steal. FWIW, I agree that they shouldn’t be stealing from you; that doesn’t mean you’re not in the wrong as well.

I don’t mean to be rude, but uh, Polish isn’t STEALING anything. Fan Art is, well, art, done by fans, to show their appreciation for the original artists and the company as a whole.
Which is what Polish does.
What, you gonna go and tell deviantart to shut down now? Because that place is FULL of Fan Art. Fair use and Creative commons allow the production of fan art so long as it is not for financial gain.

Using someones fan art to gain profit, is what you would define as “stealing” and uh yeah, the dude making the shirts can actually have the pants sued off them for it. It may not be their art, but the characters are still intellectual property of WotC.

Also, “Rally your followers”. Uh. No. The followers wanted to know what was going down and Polish merely accommodated.
There is a fundamental difference between commanding your followers to go on a witch hunt and just posting what’s going on for people who are curious.
I can see how you would think that he’s rallying followers, but he isn’t. He’s answering questions.
What fans of Polish decide to do in response to the letters and the situation is up to them, Polish is one person, One goddamned person. He has NO power of the actions of others. He can politely ask people to not start causing issues (and I believe he already has done so), but whether the people listen is out of his control.
So get your story straight before you start spouting uneducated nonsense.

Real talk (Yes I know, I haven’t actually posted any ART on my art blog. I’ll get around to it later), I had those three thrown at me for most of my life thus far. I am 21 years old, I am old enough to make decisions in where I know that I am certain that they will not change.

I do not have the stable finances, the living environment, nor the parenting skills to deal with a puke shooting, walking migraine shit machine.

On that note, I have misophonia toward babies and children in general crying/laughing/screaming/making general noises. When handed a baby, I have to focus my breathing to stop myself having a panic attack. (and my family have been amazing in accommodating this aside one uncle who took it personally whom I do not speak to anymore) Writing this out is making me break out in a sweat thinking about it.
On the note of puking, yeah, Emetophobic, I’m terrified of vomit, so dealing with something that does it on the reg (and morning sickness) is something I’m not prepared to deal with.

Also, this planet is already at it’s point of “Yeah too overpopulated.” and I don’t want to contribute.

So yeah, all of my this. If I want a kid, I’ll adopt one, and don’t you fucking dare shoot me a message after this now all “Yeah but it’s not your flesh and blood.”
If I accept them into my family, They ARE my flesh and blood. So fuck you guys who have this attitude.
